3-Step Clean Air Plan

Improve Your Indoor Air with this Simple, Effective Plan

Unless we have outdoor jobs, most of us spend 90% of our time indoors—where the level of air pollution is generally 2–5 times greater than the pollution outside.

This prolonged and continuous exposure to dangerous indoor pollution is a serious threat to our well-being with potential health effects ranging from asthma and allergies to COPD and cancer.

It's clear that something needs to be done.

This 3-step Clean Air Plan is a simple yet highly effective strategy for improving indoor air quality, to create a healthier and more comfortable environment for you, your family, your co-workers and your clients.

  1. Eliminate – Removing the source of pollutants whenever possible is the first and foremost step in cleaning up indoor air pollution and the best way to prevent further environmental toxification.

This includes eliminating or reducing as much as possible all household and personal products, home furnishings, etc. that contain and emit harmful chemicals into the air.

Equally important is a regular cleaning program (with mild, safe cleaning products) to remove or prevent the accumulation of fine particle and 'hybrid' pollutants such as dust, smoke particles, pet dander, mold, bacteria and viruses.

  2. Ventilate – Systematic air circulation—replacing stale, polluted indoor air with fresh outdoor air—is the next step in creating a clean and healthy indoor environment.

Without adequate ventilation even the cleanest, 'purest' homes are subject to a harmful build-up of indoor air pollutants.

  3. Filtrate – There will inevitably be some sources of indoor air pollutants which cannot be completely eliminated, such as household dust, bacteria and viruses, building and renovation materials, office equipment, home furnishings, scented products worn by friends and clients, and pollutants which come in from the outside air.
  4. A high-efficiency HEPA / carbon air purifier that effectively traps a broad range of residual air pollutants is an important element in the overall plan to create a cleaner, healthier indoor environment.

The safest and most effective air purifiers use true, medical grade HEPA filtration for particles (pollen, pet dander, fine dust) and deep bed, activated carbon filtration for odors, gases and chemicals.

HEPA and carbon together are necessary for 'hybrid' pollutants comprised of both particles and chemicals such as combustion by-products (smoke, vehicle exhaust, gas appliances), biological contaminants (dust mites, mold, bacteria) and aerosols.

"I am delighted with both your AllerAir MCS and Vocarb air purifiers. I acquired MCS from an overexposure to formaldehyde so I must be careful to avoid the off gassing of common products in addition to typical airborne particulate matter.

"Your machines have provided me with a clear improvement in my quality of life.

" I have tried other purifiers, but I have found your products to be superior. The sealed, varnish-free motors and non-toxic components make a great difference. The fact that the prefilters can be easily—and inexpensively—replaced gives me added peace of mind.

"My little daughter has also benefited from AllerAir products. Her chronic respiratory and ENT problems have decreased in both frequency and severity."
