Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr.
DETAILS
Designed for extra odor and airborne chemical control, the
compact Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. also removes a broad range of airborne
particles including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold, bacteria, and viruses.
The HealthMate Plus Jr. is ideal for use in bedrooms, small offices, hotel rooms,
storage areas, and cottages.
Austin Air's 360-degree intake
system draws air into all sides of the HealthMate Plus Jr. The air passes
first through two pre-filters inside the machine, then a combined
filter of 30 sq. ft. of true medical grade HEPA and 6.5 pounds
of activated carbon with potassium iodide to remove higher
concentrations of specific VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
such as formaldehyde found in new buildings, renovation materials,
carpets, furniture, upholstery and fabrics.
Even this smaller unit has a relatively large surface area of HEPA for filtering
99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in diameter. The
carbon filter traps odors, chemicals and gases.
The outflow of air from the HealthMate Plus Jr. is directed slightly upwards, creating
a significant 'clean air pocket'.
The pre-filter in this unit
can be cleaned by vacuuming the four sides of the outside
screen with a vacuum brush attachment (no disassembly required).
Removal of filters for replacement is done by unscrewing
the bottom plate of the unit.

FILTRATION SYSTEM
The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. utilizes a 4-stage filtration system:
- Large particle pre-filter – removes dust, hair and pet dander
NOTE: The pre-filter should be cleaned at least once a month
by vacuuming the outside screen of the unit with a soft brush attachment
- Medium particle pre-filter wrapped around the combined carbon and HEPA filter – removes mold, spores and pollen
- 6.5 pounds of activated carbon with zeolite, and potassium iodide to remove
higher concentrations of specific VOCs (volatile organic compounds) such as formaldehyde found in new buildings, renovation
materials, carpets, furniture, upholstery and fabrics
- 30 sq.ft. of true medical grade HEPA – traps 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in diameter

MECHANICAL: Your Austin Air cleaner is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
under normal residential use for 5 years from the date of purchase.
FILTER: The length of filter life will be different in each home. Many factors are involved such as the amount of dust and pollution which come in from outside when windows are open (and they must be opened regularly); renovation materials; home cleaning products; 'air fresheners'; candles; perfumes; personal care products and sprays ... items we take for granted and don't even notice.
